How it worked
Sign up and raise funds
Changemakers were invited to create their free Givebutter account, verify their nonprofit, and launch a Giving Tuesday fundraising page, donation form, or event. Thanks to the Givebutter Guarantee, campaigns with optional tips enabled paid no platform or processing fees!
Open Givebutter Wallet
The next step was to set up Givebutter Wallet and set it as the organization’s primary payout method. All settled donations land in Wallet automatically each day, earning 2.5% APY rewards while you fundraise!

Every dollar raised on Givebutter on Giving Tuesday (December 2, 2025) and transferred into Wallet by December 14 received a 1% match, deposited into Wallets starting December 15.
Match terms & details
- Givebutter will only match donations processed online through Givebutter and stored in Givebutter Wallet.
- External funds (from outside of Givebutter) manually transferred into Wallet will not be matched. This includes offline gifts, cash donations, and check donations entered manually into your campaign.
- Only funds processed online on Givebutter (and stored in Wallet thereafter) from December 2 at 12:00 AM ET through December 3 at 5:59 AM ET will be matched.
- Funds raised on Givebutter on Giving Tuesday must be stored in your Givebutter Wallet by December 14 at 11:59 PM ET to qualify for the match.
- Matches will be directly deposited into the participating accounts’ Wallets starting December 15.
- Wallet must remain your primary payout method until match funds have been received to ensure eligibility.
- All accounts with a Givebutter Wallet are automatically opted into the promotion.

Any verified nonprofit organization that raised funds via their Givebutter donation form, event, or fundraising page on Giving Tuesday (December 2, 2025), and settled those funds in their Givebutter Wallet, was eligible to receive a 1% match from Givebutter.
What did organizations need to do to receive the 1% matching donation from Givebutter?
If you’re new to Givebutter:

If you’re an existing Givebutter user: Verify your nonprofit (if you haven’t already) and set Wallet as your primary payout method. That’s it!

Do offline donations count toward the 1% match?
No—only online donations processed through Givebutter during the Giving Tuesday match window are eligible for the 1% match. Offline gifts, cash donations, and checks entered manually into your campaign will not be matched.
What if my campaign spans multiple days?
Only donations processed during the match window (December 2 at 12:00 AM ET through December 3 at 5:59 AM ET) will be matched. You can still keep your campaign open before or after that window—those donations just won’t qualify for the 1% match.
